LANDLINE CALL SETTINGS

CALL WAITING, HOLD AND TOGGLE CALLS, THREE-WAY CONFERENCE

These functions allow you to accept calls and put them on hold when you are already in a call, or to talk to two people at the same time.

Here you will learn how to set up your landline for this.

CALL WAITING

If your line is busy, a third party can still call you and let you know that they are waiting. You will be informed by means of an audible tone. You can choose from the following options:

  • End the existing call and take the waiting call.
  • Temporarily put the existing call on “hold” in order to take the waiting call.
  • Ignore the waiting call.

Activate call waiting

1. Lift the handset

2. Enter *43#

3. Wait for the set-up confirmation and hang up

This option can be deactivated again by entering #43#.

Take the waiting call and put the existing call on hold

1. Press the • or R key (depending on the telephone model)

2. Wait for the dial tone and press 2

Repeat steps 1 and 2 to switch back and forth between the calls.

Take the waiting call and end the existing call

1. Press the • or R key (depending on the telephone model)

2. Wait for the dial tone and press 1

You can also end the existing call by hanging up.

In this case, your phone will ring to signal that you have a call waiting. To accept it, you can simply lift the handset when you hear the tone.

The call waiting function only works fully when call forwarding “when busy” is deactivated. If call forwarding is activated, then the number of the waiting call will not be shown.

SWITCHING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN CALLS (HOLD/TOGGLE)

Put call on hold and call a new number

1. Press the • or R key (depending on the telephone model)

2. Wait for the dial tone and press 2

3. Dial the number for the new call (within 20 seconds)

Repeat steps 1 and 2 to toggle back and forth between the calls.

End the call on hold

1. Press the • or R key (depending on the telephone model)

2. Wait for the dial tone and press 0

Then only the call you are currently in will remain active.

End the current call and accept the call on hold

1. Press the • or R key (depending on the telephone model)

2. Wait for the dial tone and press 1

Now you are talking with the person that you had on “hold” before.
