Calls via Voice over LTE will be billed as normal calls according to your UPC Mobile subscription and listed as usual in your UPC bill (without special labelling).
There are various possible reasons for this:
No 4G network available
Please check whether a 4G network is available where you are. Only then is it possible to use Voice over LTE.
VoLTE is not activated.
Here’s how you can activate VoLTE.
Smartphone is not VoLTE compatible
If your mobile phone is not VoLTE compatible, you will not be able to use VoLTE. Check our current list of devices to see whether your smartphone model is listed for VoLTE.
You are abroad.
You can only use Voice over LTE within Switzerland.
No, Voice over LTE is only available within Switzerland.
The difference is that calls with Voice over LTE take place via the 4G mobile network, and calls with Wifi Calling take place via a wifi connection. Both technologies are options that offer you even better call quality.
Wifi Calling can be convenient if you are in a place with weak mobile coverage, for example. When Wifi Calling is activated, you can simply make calls via your wifi connection in this case.
Yes, if you have activated VoLTE, you can deactivate it again in the same way.
Please note: If you deactivate VoLTE, you will miss out on the advantages such as excellent HD voice quality.
